This summer we’re pleased to introduce a new webinar series called “2019 Summer Bootcamp Educational Webinar Series,” which features live, one-hour webinars focusing on a specific objective in order to solve a common problem that a fire agency might experience. The webinars will walk viewers through specific aspects of Emergency Reporting software and how it can help solve that problem. Both ER customers and non-ER users are welcome to attend, and a recorded version will be added to our Summer Bootcamp playlist on YouTube after the live webinar.
Week 1 of the Summer Bootcamp series focused on “PPE Management/NFPA 1851” (view the recorded version here: http://bit.ly/SummerBootcamp2019-Week1). In the webinar, ER’s Business Development Analyst and 22-year veteran of the fire service, Tom Louis, shows you how you can improve your agency’s critical responsibility of PPE Management that truly adheres to NFPA 1851 – the Standard on Selection, Care, and Maintenance of Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting.
The webinar touches on what Emergency Reporting can help with in regard to NFPA 1851, which is Chapter 4.3.3 – Records (the record-keeping element of PPE).
As mentioned in the webinar, listed below is the excerpt on required records that Emergency Reporting can help you manage in order to adhere to NFPA standards:
At least the following records shall be kept for each protective ensemble or ensemble element:
- Person to whom the element is issued.
- Date and condition when issued
- Manufacturer and model name or design
- Manufacturer’s ID number, lot number, or serial number
- Month and year of manufacture
- Date and findings of advanced inspections
- Date and findings of advanced cleaning or decontamination
- Reason for advanced cleaning or decontamination
- Date of repairs, who performed repairs, and brief description of repairs
- Date of retirement
- Date and method of disposal
The webinar walks viewers through the important parts of the ER Maintenance Module, Safety Analytics, and a sampling of several useful reports in the ER system that allow you to manage your PPE and adhere to NFPA 1851 (such as Report #1515 – Equipment and Maintenance History for Assigned Personnel for Category for Subcategory for Maintenance Type for Date Range and Report #1611 – Equipment History for Category for Subcategory for Maintenance Type for Date Range).
